Sustainability consulting, from strategy to action.
Habitat's sustainability consulting covers the whole arc — baseline, strategy, roadmap, policies, measurement and the moment you have to prove it all to a buyer, a bank or a border. You work with a senior sustainability consultant, not a rotating bench, and every engagement runs on data your company can defend. See all services, or start with the request sitting in front of you.
Three forces putting sustainability on the agenda.
Sustainability work rarely starts with ambition alone. It starts when the market turns it into a condition of doing business.
More than 60% of Western Balkan goods exports go to the EU. CBAM has run in its definitive regime since 1 January 2026, and the regulation defines exactly which embedded-emissions data EU importers must collect from suppliers of covered goods — a commercial condition, not a courtesy.
Companies reporting under CSRD — those with more than 1,000 employees and over EUR 450 million net turnover — collect sustainability data across their value chains, and banks increasingly send ESG questionnaires in credit processes. Improvised answers read as risk.
Without a plan, every request becomes a one-off fire drill: new spreadsheet, new wording, new inconsistency. A sustainability strategy with owners and dates lets you answer every audience from one defensible dataset.
Most clients arrive with one of these pressures already on the table. The job of sustainability consulting is to turn that pressure into a programme the business actually runs.
What corporate sustainability consulting covers.
Five workstreams, one team, one dataset. Start where the pressure is — everything we build feeds the same evidence base, so nothing is collected twice.
When the question turns from direction to disclosure — ESRS datapoints, VSME fields, double materiality — hand it to our ESG consulting services, built on the same dataset.
From first conversation to working roadmap.
Judgement in front, software underneath.
Strategy consultancies hand you slides. Data firms hand you numbers. A sustainability programme needs both in one place, because a roadmap is only as credible as the measurements behind it.
That is why every Habitat engagement runs on Karbon360°, our own ClimateTech platform. It structures your energy and activity data into GHG Protocol inventories with country-specific emission factors and keeps the evidence trail — so the consultant hours you pay for go into decisions, not data entry.
Karbon360°
Karbon360° transforms energy and business activity data into structured greenhouse-gas inventories, audit-ready reports and reusable disclosure datasets — one platform behind every Habitat engagement.
A sustainability consultancy you can verify.
Habitat L.L.C. is a Kosovo-based sustainability and carbon consultancy working across the Western Balkans and with the EU supply chains the region feeds. Our clients are exporters, manufacturers and service businesses for whom sustainability is market access, financing and competitiveness — not a brochure.
The work is institutional as well as commercial. Habitat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce — a partnership to accelerate the green transition of Kosovo's business sector through sustainable business practice, ESG integration and climate-technology adoption. Read the announcement.
And because the method and the platform are ours, you deal directly with the people who built them. Engagements are remote-deliverable: workshops run online, data collection runs through the platform, and deliverables follow EU frameworks wherever the client sits.
A strategy that never reaches operations is a document, not a direction.
Frequently asked.
What does a sustainability consultant actually do?
A sustainability consultant turns outside pressure — customer requests, bank questionnaires, EU rules — into an internal programme. In practice that means assessing where the company stands, building a strategy and roadmap with owners and dates, drafting the policies that make it governable, setting up carbon measurement under the GHG Protocol, and handling the requests that arrive from buyers, banks and regulators. At Habitat, a senior consultant leads that work and our platform Karbon360° carries the data underneath it.
What do sustainability consulting services include?
At Habitat: a baseline and gap assessment, sustainability strategy and roadmap, policies and governance, supply-chain and customer request support (buyer questionnaires, CBAM data requests, EcoVadis and CDP responses), and measurement with communication-ready outputs. You can buy one workstream or the full programme — every piece builds on the same evidence base.
How much does sustainability consulting cost?
It depends on company size, number of sites, how good your data already is, and whether you need strategy, measurement, request support or all three. We keep the cost mid-market by letting software do the data-heavy work instead of billing consultant hours for it, and we always put scope, timeline and price in writing — a fixed-fee quote within 48 hours of a scoping call.
What is the difference between sustainability consulting and ESG consulting?
Sustainability consulting is the broader strategy-to-action discipline: deciding what the business will change, building the roadmap, policies and measurement, and answering the market's questions along the way. ESG consulting looks at the same facts through the disclosure lens — double materiality, CSRD and ESRS, VSME reporting. At Habitat the two share one team and one dataset, so strategy work flows straight into reporting without re-collecting anything.
Do we need a sustainability strategy consultant or a sustainability reporting consultant?
Usually both, in that order — and ideally the same firm. A strategy consultant without measurement produces targets nobody can track; a reporting consultant without strategy produces disclosures with nothing behind them. Start from the trigger: if a specific report or questionnaire is due, begin there and let the strategy grow out of the data; if the board wants direction first, begin with the baseline and roadmap, and the reporting falls out of it.
