EcoVadis scores and CDP answers, built on real numbers.

Your largest customer wants a better EcoVadis scorecard. Your investor wants a CDP response. Habitat works as your EcoVadis rating improvement consultant and provides CDP climate change questionnaire support in one engagement — both built on the same measured emissions data, delivered remotely to suppliers in the US, the EU and the Western Balkans.

The request

Two ratings, one data problem.

Both requests land the same way: a portal invitation, a deadline, and a customer or investor on the other end who will read the result. EcoVadis and CDP ask different questions, but they reward the same thing — documented practice backed by data.

Your customer runs EcoVadis

Large buyers screen suppliers through an evidence-backed assessment across four themes: environment, labour & human rights, ethics and sustainable procurement. The result is a 0–100 scorecard and a medal tier that procurement teams act on.

Your investor requests CDP

CDP runs the annual global environmental disclosure system. Companies respond to questionnaires on climate change, water security and forests — usually at the request of investors or corporate customers — and are scored from A to D−.

→ One evidence base serves both

Policies, documented actions and a measured GHG inventory answer the environment questions in EcoVadis and sit at the core of the CDP climate change questionnaire. Build the base once, reuse it everywhere.

How it works

Four steps to a stronger submission.

STEP 01ReviewWe read your current EcoVadis scorecard or CDP request, your documents and your data, and map every gap to a concrete fix.
STEP 02Close gapsMissing policies get written, evidence gets collected, and the GHG inventory gets built or upgraded to GHG Protocol standard.
STEP 03SubmitWe draft the answers, attach the right proof documents and walk your team through internal sign-off before anything is filed.
STEP 04ImproveAfter results land, you get a plain-language read of what moved, what did not, and the priority list for the next cycle.
The data layer

One inventory behind every answer.

The environment theme of EcoVadis and the CDP climate change questionnaire both come back to the same question: can you show measured greenhouse-gas emissions rather than estimates? We build your inventory to the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard — Scope 1, Scope 2 reported both location-based and market-based, and the Scope 3 categories that matter for your value chain. If the scopes are new territory, start with our plain-English guide to Scope 1, 2 and 3.

The numbers live in Karbon360°, our own platform, so next year's response starts from a maintained inventory instead of a blank spreadsheet.

Score movers

What actually moves a rating.

  • Written policies. Both systems are evidence-based — a practice that exists only in people's heads cannot be scored.
  • Measured emissions. A GHG Protocol inventory with country-specific emission factors replaces estimates in the EcoVadis environment theme and anchors the CDP climate change response.
  • Consistent numbers. The same figures must appear in your scorecard evidence, your CDP answers and your corporate carbon footprint report — reviewers notice when they do not.
  • Actions with owners and dates. Statements of intent read as exactly that.
  • A year-round evidence calendar. When proof is collected as you go, the next cycle is an update, not a rebuild.
FAQ

Frequently asked.

What does an EcoVadis rating improvement consultant actually do?
Four things: analyse your current scorecard theme by theme, build the missing policies and evidence documents, put measured emissions data behind the environment theme, and manage the submission itself. What no consultant controls is the score — EcoVadis assesses the evidence you can show. What we control is making sure nothing you actually do goes unscored for lack of documentation.
How does CDP climate change questionnaire support work?
We start from who asked — an investor or a corporate customer — and what they will read. Then we build or check the GHG inventory behind your answers, draft the questionnaire responses, assemble the supporting documentation and run an internal sign-off round before submission. CDP scores from A to D−, and the climate change questionnaire leans heavily on whether your emissions figures are measured, complete and governed.
Can you help with SBTi target setting for small suppliers?
Yes. A credible target rests on a credible baseline, so we start with the GHG Protocol inventory, then work through reduction options with you and prepare the documentation a science-based target commitment needs. The right route depends on your size and sector — we scope it on the first call.
Do we need a full GHG inventory before responding to CDP?
You can submit without one, but the climate change questionnaire is built around emissions data, so unmeasured companies leave most of its substance blank. We usually build the inventory in parallel with the drafting — Scope 1 and 2 first, then the Scope 3 categories that matter for your value chain.
We are a US supplier — can Habitat deliver this remotely?
Yes. The work is data and documents: portal access, your records and scheduled working sessions are all it takes. Habitat supports suppliers across the US, the EU and the Western Balkans remotely, and works daily with the EU frameworks that drive many of these customer requests in the first place.
