ESG consulting services, built for the mid-market.
Habitat delivers ESG consulting services for mid-market companies — strategy, double materiality, reporting, and the carbon numbers underneath them. Senior consultants do the thinking; our own platform, Karbon360°, does the heavy data work, which is how the quality stays high and the cost stays mid-market. See all services, or bring us whatever request just landed on your desk.
Three requests that put ESG on your desk.
ESG rarely arrives as a strategy decision. It arrives as a demand from someone your business cannot ignore.
CBAM has run in its definitive regime since 1 January 2026, and CSRD reporters collect supplier data for their value chains. These requests are regulation-driven, not curiosity — your customer's own filing depends on what you send back.
Banks increasingly price credit with ESG questionnaires that map closely to the EU's voluntary VSME standard. A blank or improvised return is read as risk.
Companies with more than 1,000 employees and over EUR 450 million net turnover report under CSRD — wave-2 groups for the first time in 2028, on FY2027. Their data collection starts earlier, and it lands on subsidiaries and suppliers.
Most clients come to us with one of these letters already on the table. The work is the same either way: build one defensible set of ESG facts and reuse it for every audience.
ESG consulting services, end to end.
Five workstreams, one team, one dataset. Start anywhere — every engagement feeds the same evidence base, so nothing is collected twice.
If you want the broader strategy-to-action picture before committing to disclosure work, start with sustainability consulting — then come back here when the reporting questions get specific.
Consulting with a platform behind it.
Most consultancies price ESG work as hours, and most of those hours go into collecting energy bills, fuel records and activity data — then turning them into something a reviewer will accept. We moved that whole layer into software.
Karbon360°, our own ClimateTech platform, structures that data into GHG Protocol inventories with country-specific emission factors, keeps the evidence trail, and produces the files your buyer, bank or auditor actually asks for. You pay for judgement, not data entry.

Karbon360°
Karbon360° transforms energy and business activity data into structured greenhouse-gas inventories, audit-ready reports and reusable disclosure datasets — one platform behind every Habitat engagement.
Credibility you can check.
Habitat L.L.C. is a Kosovo-based ESG and carbon consultancy working across the Western Balkans and with the EU supply chains the region feeds. More than 60% of Western Balkan goods exports go to the EU, so for our clients ESG is not a branding exercise — it is market access.
That work is institutional as well as commercial. Habitat has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Kosovo Chamber of Commerce — a partnership to accelerate the green transition of Kosovo's business sector through sustainable business practice, ESG integration and climate-technology adoption. Read the announcement.
Whether you need a full ESG programme or a sustainability consultant to own a single workstream, you work directly with the people who built the method and the platform — not a rotating bench.
Where EU ESG rules stand today.
| Framework | Status in late 2026 | What it means for you |
|---|---|---|
| CSRD | Omnibus I (Directive (EU) 2026/470) narrows mandatory scope to companies with more than 1,000 employees and over EUR 450 million net turnover; listed SMEs removed | Fewer companies report directly — but those that do collect data from suppliers like you |
| Wave-2 reporting | First reports in 2028, covering FY2027 | 2027 is the first measured year, so systems must run before it starts |
| ESRS | Revised, simplified ESRS adopted 3 July 2026 (in Parliament–Council scrutiny); apply from financial years beginning 1 January 2027 | Fewer datapoints, the same discipline on material topics |
| VSME | Voluntary standard annexed to Commission Recommendation (EU) 2025/1710; designed as the value-chain cap | The sensible reporting target for most non-listed SMEs |
| CBAM | Definitive regime since 1 January 2026; first annual declaration due 30 September 2027, for 2026 imports | EU buyers of covered goods need installation-level embedded-emissions data from their suppliers |
Status as verified on 31 October 2026 against the Official Journal and European Commission sources.

Frequently asked.
What do ESG consulting services include?
At Habitat: an ESG assessment and gap analysis, ESG strategy consulting (targets, roadmap, governance), a double materiality assessment under ESRS 1, report preparation against CSRD/ESRS or the voluntary VSME standard, and carbon accounting under the GHG Protocol across scopes 1, 2 and 3. You can buy one workstream or the full programme — everything builds on the same dataset.
How much does ESG consulting cost?
It depends on scope: company size, number of sites, which frameworks apply and how good your data already is. We keep the cost mid-market by letting Karbon360° do the data-heavy work instead of billing consultant hours for it, and we always put scope, timeline and price in writing — you get a fixed-fee quote within 48 hours of a scoping call.
What is ESG strategy consulting?
The step between assessment and reporting: deciding which sustainability topics the business will actually act on, setting targets and a realistic roadmap, and assigning ownership and governance. Done properly it starts from a double materiality assessment, so the strategy reflects both your impacts on people and the environment and the risks and opportunities those topics create for the business itself.
Do we still need ESG reporting after the EU Omnibus?
Mandatory CSRD reporting now applies to companies with more than 1,000 employees and over EUR 450 million net turnover (Directive (EU) 2026/470), and listed SMEs were removed from mandatory scope. But the data demand did not disappear: CSRD reporters collect it from their value chains, banks ask for it in credit processes, and CBAM means EU importers need embedded-emissions data from suppliers of covered goods. For most mid-sized companies the right 2026 answer is a VSME-based report — voluntary, proportionate, and designed as the cap on the sustainability data large customers are asked to request from SMEs.
Do you work with companies outside the Western Balkans?
Yes. The work is remote-deliverable: data collection runs through Karbon360°, workshops run online, and deliverables follow EU frameworks wherever the client sits. We work with exporters across the region, with EU companies preparing their own disclosures, and with suppliers further afield responding to EU customer requests.
